Key Responsibilities For Budget Analyst (Entry-Level, Remote)

- Assist senior analysts in preparing, monitoring, and updating quarterly and annual budgets for multiple business segments.
- Collect and reconcile financial data from internal systems, ensuring accuracy and compliance with Amazon’s accounting policies.
- Perform variance analysis to identify deviations from forecast, summarizing findings in clear, actionable reports for managers.
- Support the development of cost‑allocation models and expense tracking tools using Excel, SQL, or Amazon’s internal analytics platforms.
- Participate in cross‑functional meetings to gather input, explain budget assumptions, and respond to stakeholder inquiries.
- Contribute to ad‑hoc financial projects, such as pricing analysis, capital investment reviews, and process‑improvement initiatives.
- Maintain documentation of budgeting procedures and assist in continuous‑improvement efforts to streamline workflows.

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret large data sets and identify key trends.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and basic macros; familiarity with SQL or other data‑query languages is a plus.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of presenting complex information in a concise manner.
- High level of attention to detail and commitment to meeting tight deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
