- Develop, implement, and maintain data quality frameworks, standards, and policies that align with Google’s data governance objectives.
- Conduct systematic data profiling, validation, and cleansing activities across large‑scale datasets to identify anomalies, duplicates, and inconsistencies.
- Collaborate with data engineers, analysts, and product owners to define data quality metrics, thresholds, and remediation workflows.
- Monitor data pipelines in real time, generate quality dashboards, and provide actionable insights to stakeholders.
- Lead root‑cause analysis of data quality incidents, document findings, and drive corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Ensure compliance with internal data policies as well as external regulations such as GDPR, CCPA, and industry‑specific standards.
- Participate in data onboarding projects, reviewing source data and establishing quality acceptance criteria.
- Mentor junior team members on best practices for data validation, documentation, and continuous improvement.

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Statistics, or a related technical field.
- Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in data quality, data governance, or data stewardship roles, preferably within a large technology organization.
- Proven expertise with SQL, data profiling tools (e.g., Great Expectations, Talend), and data visualization platforms (e.g., Looker, Tableau).
- Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret complex data sets and translate findings into clear recommendations.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of influencing cross‑functional teams and presenting technical concepts to non‑technical audiences.
- Demonstrated experience with cloud data environments such as Google BigQuery, AWS Redshift, or Azure Synapse.

Desired Skills

- Familiarity with programming languages such as Python or R for automated data quality checks.
- Knowledge of machine‑learning‑based anomaly detection techniques.
- Experience with data cataloging tools (e.g., Google Data Catalog) and metadata management.
- Certifications in data governance or data management (e.g., DAMA, CDMP).
- Prior exposure to privacy‑by‑design frameworks and data security best practices.

Compensation & Benefits

- Annual base salary range: $95,000 – $130,000, dependent on experience and location.
