This is a fully remote role, reporting to the Senior Managing Editor.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and execute the editorial strategy for the assigned digital magazine, aligning content with audience insights and brand goals.
- Lead a cross‑functional team of writers, photographers, designers, and video producers, providing clear direction, feedback, and mentorship.
- Oversee the full content lifecycle: ideation, commissioning, editing, publishing, and post‑publication performance analysis.
- Collaborate with product, SEO, social, and audience development teams to optimize content for discovery, engagement, and revenue.
- Manage the editorial calendar, ensuring a steady flow of high‑quality stories while meeting deadlines and budget constraints.
- Conduct regular audience research, analytics reviews, and competitive audits to inform editorial decisions and drive growth.
- Uphold the highest standards of journalistic integrity, fact‑checking, and brand voice across all pieces.
- Represent the magazine at virtual events, webinars, and industry conferences as needed.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of editorial experience in digital publishing, preferably within a magazine or media brand.
- Proven track record of managing editorial teams and delivering audience‑focused content that drives traffic and engagement.
- Strong command of AP style, copy‑editing, and storytelling across text, photo, and video formats.
- Demonstrated ability to use analytics tools (Google Analytics, Chartbeat, or similar) to inform editorial strategy.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across remote teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, English, or a related field; advanced degree is a plus.
