Key Responsibilities
- Collect, review, and validate patient health records, ensuring accuracy and completeness in electronic health‑record (EHR) systems.
- Code diagnoses, procedures, and services using ICD‑10‑CM, CPT, and HCPCS guidelines to support billing and reimbursement processes.
- Perform regular audits of clinical documentation to identify discrepancies and recommend corrective actions.
- Maintain strict confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA, HITECH, and other regulatory requirements.
- Generate and distribute standard reports on data quality, coding accuracy, and utilization trends for internal stakeholders.
- Collaborate with clinical staff, physicians, and billing teams via virtual meetings and secure messaging platforms to resolve documentation issues.
- Support the implementation of new EHR functionalities and coding updates by providing training materials and troubleshooting assistance.

Required Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in Health Information Management, Health Informatics, or a related field; a bachelor’s degree is preferred.
- Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) or Certified Coding Associate (CCA) credential, or eligibility to obtain certification within 12 months of hire.
- Minimum of two years of experience working with EHR systems and medical coding in a hospital, clinic, or health‑plan environment.
- Demonstrated proficiency with coding software (e.g., 3M Encoder, Epic, Cerner) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret clinical documentation and apply coding conventions accurately.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to work independently in a remote setting.

Desired Skills
- Experience with data‑analytics tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or SQL for reporting purposes.
- Familiarity with quality‑improvement initiatives and performance‑measurement frameworks.
- Knowledge of telehealth documentation standards and emerging health‑information technologies.
