Key Responsibilities
- Review and translate physician documentation, lab reports, and imaging results into appropriate ICD‑10‑CM, CPT, and HCPCS codes for inpatient, outpatient, and specialty services.
- Ensure coding accuracy and compliance with federal regulations, payer policies, and UnitedHealth Group coding standards.
- Conduct audits of coded records, identify discrepancies, and provide corrective feedback to clinical staff.
- Collaborate with billing, claims, and quality teams to resolve coding-related inquiries and support denial management.
- Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of coding guidelines, payer updates, and industry best practices through continuous education.

Required Qualifications
- Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) credential from AAPC or AHIMA.
- Minimum of 2 years of hands‑on medical coding experience in a hospital, physician practice, or health‑tech environment.
- Proficiency with coding software and EHR systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner, Meditech) and familiarity with claim processing platforms.
- Strong understanding of Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payer guidelines.
- Excellent attention to detail, analytical thinking, and the ability to work independently in a remote setting.
