- Edit and mix podcast episodes to achieve broadcast‑quality sound, ensuring clarity, consistent volume levels, and removal of background noise or unwanted artifacts.
- Collaborate with hosts, producers, and talent to shape episode structure, incorporate music, sound effects, and ad reads while preserving the creator’s voice and intent.
- Manage the end‑to‑end post‑production workflow, including file organization, version control, and delivery of final masters to publishing platforms.
- Conduct quality assurance reviews, perform final checks for audio compliance, and troubleshoot technical issues promptly.
- Maintain and update audio libraries, templates, and style guides to support efficient production across multiple shows.
- Track episode timelines, meet publishing deadlines, and communicate status updates to cross‑functional teams.
- Assist in the development of new podcast formats by providing creative input on pacing, storytelling techniques, and audience engagement strategies.
- Stay current with industry trends, software updates, and best practices to continuously elevate the audio experience.

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in Audio Production, Communications, Journalism, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Minimum of 3 years of hands‑on editing experience for narrative or interview‑based podcasts, radio, or similar audio media.
- Proficiency with industry‑standard DAWs such as Adobe Audition, Pro Tools, or Avid Media Composer, and familiarity with remote recording tools.
- Strong understanding of loudness standards (e.g., LUFS) and audio codecs used for streaming platforms.
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills, with a collaborative mindset toward creators and technical staff.

Desired Skills

- Experience with multi‑track mixing, sound design, and music licensing for podcasts.
- Knowledge of podcast hosting platforms, RSS feed management, and metadata optimization.
- Ability to write concise episode show notes or transcriptions.
