Key Responsiblities For Remote Course Designer Assistant
- Support senior instructional designers in developing engaging, standards‑aligned course content for a variety of subject areas.
- Conduct research on industry trends, learner needs, and best practices to inform curriculum design decisions.
- Assist in drafting learning objectives, storyboards, scripts, and assessment items that meet Coursera’s quality guidelines.
- Coordinate with subject‑matter experts, multimedia producers, and technical teams to ensure timely delivery of course assets.
- Perform quality‑assurance reviews of video captions, graphics, and interactive elements for accuracy, accessibility, and brand consistency.
- Manage version control of course materials using the company’s learning management system and collaborative tools.
- Gather and analyze pilot learner feedback, summarizing insights to recommend improvements for course iteration.
- Maintain documentation of design processes, style guides, and project timelines to support continuous improvement.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Education, Learning Sciences, or a related field.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience creating or supporting online learning content, preferably in a higher‑education or corporate training environment.
- Strong written communication skills with the ability to translate complex concepts into clear, learner‑friendly language.
- Proficiency with authoring tools such as Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate, or similar platforms.
- Familiarity with learning management systems (e.g., Canvas, Moodle, Coursera Studio) and basic HTML/CSS is a plus.
- Demonstrated attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fully remote setting across time zones.
Desired Skills
