- Prepare and review individual and small‑business tax returns (Form 1040, 1040‑S, 1040‑NR, Schedule C, etc.) ensuring accuracy and compliance with IRS regulations.
- Gather, organize, and verify client‑provided documentation, including W‑2s, 1099s, receipts, and prior year returns.
- Conduct preliminary tax research to resolve client questions and identify potential deductions or credits.
- Input data into Intuit’s tax software platforms, maintaining high data‑entry quality and adhering to confidentiality standards.
- Communicate with clients via phone, email, or video conference to clarify information, explain filing status, and provide status updates.
- Assist senior tax professionals in complex case reviews, audit support, and amendment filings.
- Track deadlines and ensure timely completion of all assigned tax projects.
- Contribute to process‑improvement initiatives and documentation of best practices for remote tax preparation.
Required Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 1‑2 years of experience in tax preparation, preferably in a remote or virtual environment.
- Strong understanding of U.S. federal and state individual tax codes and filing requirements.
